Being a Product Manager is not an easy job to do. I have had some rough days, but those are quickly overshadowed by the days when I’ve felt the satisfaction and fulfilment of solving real customer problems by understanding their pain points. In my previous story, I described how I would like to follow a structured approach to improve an existing product in terms of designing new features by taking the case of WhatsApp. While designing a new feature to solve a User Pain point is a crucial aspect of a Product Manager’s role, it still is only a fraction of it. The more significant challenge starts after a feature has been designed, in terms of validating your assumptions and ideas through real data, defining suitable metrics to measure the feature success, and devising a Go-to-market strategy for the feature.

Such is the scale of operations and usage of WhatsApp these days, it’s not only a mobile application anymore but a verb too.
